Tutoring

The main thrust of our program is tutoring in collaboration with Pontiac Elementary Schools.  It is a partnership between the teachers, the parents and Bound Together.  We tutor children in the basics.  In addition, we mentor and nurture them in a safe and quality program.

KID'S Café is America's Second Harvest program through the Food Bank of Oakland County, guaranteeing children the right NOT to be hungry.  Meals and snacks are served twice a week and are open to all children in the program.  For some this is a lifeline, for others, it is a welcome opportunity.

Overnight Camp

What do you do when you have too many children who want to go to camp?  Rent the whole camp of course.

Camp overnight was a thank you to all the children for doing well in school and was provided at no cost to the children.  All Saint's Episcopal Church and friends as well as foundations provided an opportunity for Bound Together children to attend three days and nights out of the city.

To be eligible, children had to have raised their grades and shown behavior improvement over the course of the year.  We did things like playing Gold Rush, relay races, swimming, a bonfire and making S'mores, and of course, a snipe hunt!
